CCSC president and CEO Michelle Shonbeck and honorees Sue and Ed Zinni (pictured, from left) celebrated at the 29th annual Azalea Gala benefiting Christian Community Service Center (CCSC). The gala, led by honorary chairs Lana and Bryant Boutwell, welcomed 500 supporters and raised more than $900,000 for CCSC’s social-service programs that provide emergency food and rent assistance, employment coaching, vocational training, and youth services to Houstonians in need. The Rev. Nathan Lonsdale Bledsoe of Bellaire United Methodist Church gave the invocation, and Fr. Sean Horrigan of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church gave the closing prayer. In between, CCSC board chair Stacy Williams-Bagby presented the Azalea Gala 2026 Honoree Award to the Zinnis who received a standing ovation for their partnership with CCSC to fight poverty in Houston.
