Help struggling Houstonians with food, rent assistance and employment resources.

The generosity of those who supported the 2025 Fostering Hope Luncheon, through sponsorships, underwriting, ticket purchases and the online raffle, translated into more than $135,000 raised for CCSC's mission to alleviate the effects of poverty in Houston.

The day nourished mission, but it also nourished the spirits of those in attendance as clergy panelists Pastor Jeff Smith, St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Rev. Vincent Tran, St. Theresa Catholic Church, and Rev. Preston Morgan, West University United Methodist Church, shared their ideas, insights and inspirations. Attendees also heard from Rev. Randy Spleth, Bethany Christian Church, whose congregation recently made a transformational gift of $3M to CCSC.

"We support CCSC because of its Christian mission of serving those in need, its outstanding leadership, and because it brings together many churches in the community in an ecumenical way," Luncheon Chairs Jen and Rhett Carter said. "We were honored to chair the event and be associated with such an esteemed organization. We thought the event left people inspired to put their faiths into action and serve." "Thank you to all who participated and special thanks to Jen and Rhett, our clergy panelists, our sponsors and underwriters, and harpist Laura Smith and violinist Mila Neal," Senior Director of Development Sara Pybus said. "Whether you donate, volunteer or share in our excitement, your support makes a difference in the lives of children and families in need."
