CCSC Garden
How Our Garden Grows
Since 2000, CCSC has maintained a Garden on the grounds of a CCSC member church. Now located at the Gethsemane Campus of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, the CCSC Garden’s vegetables and fruits are tended to and harvested by a green-thumbed group of volunteers. The Garden’s produce is distributed between our Emergency Services-Central and Emergency Services-Southwest sites and given to our hungry neighbors. This fresh produce is an excellent addition to our food packages and provides a unique nutritional benefit to clients.

Each year, the CCSC Garden produces 3,000 to 9,000 pounds of green beans, lettuce, okra, eggplant, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, jalapenos, bell peppers, melons, figs, and more! The biggest months of production are usually May and June.
