No one should have to face a day without nourishing food or clean clothes - yet that is the reality for many Houstonians. This is why we provide the essential basics: food and gently used clothing.
Sometimes, people just need a little bit of financial help to keep them afloat through a crisis. We help cover rent and utility payments for those who are in need and qualify for our services.
All people should have access to work that allows them to meet their needs. Our services include career and financial coaching, computer classes, and training to become a nonmedical home caregiver or start a housekeeping business.
Our seasonal Youth Services programs include Back To School, which provides school supplies, backpacks, clothing, and gift cards to students in need, and Jingle Bell Express, which provides toys, books, and grocery gift cards to children in need.
Many of us want to help our struggling neighbors but don’t know where to start. You can start with Christian Community Service Center. We believe a crisis shouldn’t keep anyone from feeding their family, paying their rent, or working toward their goals. Here are three ways you can help your neighbors in need today.
A Crisis Shouldn't Keep You From Working Toward Your Goals
When a crisis hits, and you’re already struggling to make ends meet, financial relief can feel impossible. Having enough food for your family, paying the rent, and getting out of debt become all you can focus on. The bills are piling up, and you are exhausted. You feel stuck, and your hopes and dreams can begin to drift away.
We believe a crisis shouldn’t keep you from feeding your family, paying your rent, and working toward your goals.
Christian Community Service Center helps in immediate emergency situations and can also partner with you to achieve greater financial stability. In the short-term, we provide food and help with rent and utility bills so that you can catch your breath. In the long term, our Workforce Development programs can equip you with skills and provide education and coaching to help you find work or a higher-paying job.
We don’t turn away anyone based on religious, ethnic or cultural differences. Our staff and volunteers are committed to providing you with kindness, dignity and respect.
"This has been great. Perfect. I’m very happy. We got the help, the clothes and food, that we needed. It helps a lot and we are very thankful for y’all."

"We love giving to CCSC primarily because their mission is directly aligned with our values. We are long-time CCSC donors and volunteers. As such, we have witnessed first-hand both the impact of our service and donations as well as the inner workings of this highly reputable organization."

"I have found so much joy in volunteering with the clients at CCSC. They come to me and want to learn and grow. They are ready for something and I’m helping them find it."
