Back To School

Help low-income students start the school year strong

Since 1986, CCSC has been helping low-income students prepare for the first day of school. This year’s enhanced program will provide 4,000 students with school supplies, a backpack and a $50 gift card for clothing.

Here is how you can equip students with the supplies they need to feel confident and be successful.

“Having Back To School is a blessing. Thank you to everyone who makes it possible. My child is so excited and happy to get the supplies.”

- Mother of a Back To School student
Many CCSC clients share that they are struggling with the increased prices of food and rent combined with insufficient work hours. When families face challenging times, providing new school supplies and clothing for their children can feel impossible. But with your help, children living on the edge of poverty can start the upcoming school year with the tools they need to succeed.

Corinna is a mother of four children ranging in age from 10 to 17. She and her husband registered their children for Back To School for the first time this year in the midst of financial strain.

An increase in their rent and a broken car in need of repairs have made it difficult for Corinna and her husband to afford basic family needs. With these expenses looming, they are relieved and grateful to receive help through Back To School.

“Financially it has been hard, but I have peace of mind knowing we will have school supplies for next year,” Corinna said. “Thank you for having giving hearts, thank you for helping when people need help.”

CCSC’s 2023 Back To School program will provide new school supplies and clothing gift cards to 4,000 low-income children. Will you equip students to start the new school year strong with a gift today?

We are excited to improve our school supply package by adding a backpack and increasing our clothing/shoe gift card amount from $30 to $50. These enhancements will be an even greater help to families who are still trying to catch their breath from the pandemic and inflation.

Your support this year can give peace of mind to parents like Corinna who are working hard to provide for their families. The cost of sponsoring a child has increased this year from $50 to $75. We welcome gifts of any amount toward Back To School—every dollar serves a student in need.

A gift of $75 provides brand-new school supplies, a backpack, and a clothing gift card for a child in need. Will you sponsor one or more students today?
