Our Member Churches

In 1980, six churches (St. Luke’s United Methodist, St. John the Divine Episcopal, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian, Central Presbyterian, Bethany Christian and St. Stephen’s Episcopal) created CCSC with the vision of fulfilling the Church’s call to meet the immediate needs of people in crisis. Today, CCSC is a coalition of 40 unique Christian congregations working together to serve our neighbors in need.

CCSC’s mission is to serve the poor, hungry, disabled and otherwise needy while respecting their religious, ethnic or cultural differences. If your Christian church is located within CCSC’s service area, we would love for you to join us in this mission.

What does it mean to be a CCSC Member Church?

Collective Impact

By working together, churches can maximize community resources and minimize duplication of services. When your church joins CCSC’s church coalition, we become part of your church’s local outreach ministry, serving community members with basic needs when they face emergencies and with employment trainings for long-term financial stability.

Financial Giving

When your church gives to CCSC, you can trust that resources will be effectively used to impact our most vulnerable neighbors in Houston. Church giving supports the organization’s mission to provide emergency services, employment trainings, and youth services programs to struggling people with real needs.

Volunteer Opportunities

When your congregants are looking for a meaningful place to serve, you can direct them to CCSC. Our organization is powered by our volunteers, and we have a variety of opportunities available for youth, families, and adults.

Staying Connected

Member churches provide one representative to our Council of Church Representatives. This representative attends quarterly meetings to keep their congregation informed on CCSC programs. We provide resources for your representative to share at church so your congregants can stay informed on current needs and ways to help.

Join CCSC’s member church coalition today to make a positive impact on the lives of Houstonians in need.
