Back To School

Help students start the school year strong

Since 1986, CCSC has been helping students from low-income families prepare for the first day of school. This year’s program will provide 4,000 students with school supplies, a backpack and a $50 clothing gift card.

Here is how you can equip students with the supplies they need to feel confident and be successful.

“Sometimes I don’t have enough money to buy things for the kids. Back To School is a good blessing.”

- Mother of a Back To School student
CCSC clients struggle to cover basic needs such as food and housing, especially in the face of an unexpected crisis or loss of income. For families living on the edge of poverty, purchasing new school supplies and clothing for their children can be difficult. But with your help, students can start the school year with the tools they need to succeed.

Zulema is a hard-working mother of four children. She and her husband are both employed but their incomes can be unpredictable. During times of reduced wages, additional expenses such as school supplies make it challenging for the family to pay for food, utilities and rent. Zulema must sometimes make tough decisions about how to provide for all her family’s basic needs.

Zulema heard about Back To School from a family member and was relieved to enroll her children. “Last year, I spent a lot on school supplies. We are short on money. Now we can use the money we save on school supplies on our bills and groceries.”

Thanks to donors like you, CCSC’s Back To School program will provide new school supplies and clothing gift cards to 4,000 students in need this year. Will you give a gift today to help students start the new school year strong?

Zulema is grateful her children will begin the academic year on equal footing with their peers.

“Back To School helps a lot,” Zulema said. “We are low-income people. Thank you so much for the help.”

Your support this year can give peace of mind to parents like Zulema who are working hard to provide for their families. The Back To School program covers a critical gap, allowing mothers and fathers to equip their children for the school year and stretch their limited incomes.

A gift of $75 provides brand-new school supplies, a backpack and a clothing gift card for a child in need. Will you sponsor one or more students today?
