HIRING ANNOUNCEMENT 

CCSC Seeks Part-Time Bookkeeper 

Christian Community Service Center (CCSC) is a well-established social service organization in
central/southwest Houston working to alleviate the effects of poverty. CCSC is currently searching for a
professional to join its team as a part-time Bookkeeper.

The primary responsibilities of the Bookkeeper (part-time, 21 hours/week, nonexempt) include
processing payroll, assisting with month-end reconciliation tasks, maintaining accurate records for
FDA food received and providing backup for accounts payable and other accounting duties.

Requirements for consideration: Payroll processing experience, strong Microsoft Excel skills,
knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and accrual accounting principles. Excellent attention to
detail. Proficiency in Sage or other similar accounting software. High ethical standards and a
commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of financial data. A high school diploma
is required with a preference for some college-level accounting courses. The successful candidate
must have 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Position Requirements: This position primarily works in an office setting. The employee must be able
to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer. This position communicates financial
information frequently and must be able to do so clearly and accurately.

HIRING ANNOUNCEMENT

CCSC Seeks Full-Time Volunteer Manager 

 

Christian Community Service Center is a well-established social service organization in central/southwest Houston working to alleviate the effects of poverty. CCSC is seeking a professional and motivated leader to join its staff as a full-time Volunteer Manager.

Volunteers are the heart and soul of CCSC’s mission. We are powered by volunteers who contribute in ongoing, temporary, and group opportunities. Our programs provide essential services to the community thanks to the dedication of hundreds of volunteers who generously give their time and talents. Volunteers are crucial in delivering the services on which our clients depend.

The Volunteer Manager is responsible for growing and strengthening the CCSC volunteer base through recruitment, placement and recognition efforts. This position oversees the volunteer program, including recruitment, interviewing, placement, reporting, and developing and coordinating volunteer recognition events and communications to recognize and celebrate the agency’s volunteers. This position also assists with coordinating the Council of Church Representatives, a group representing CCSC’s church partners, and with church relations.

Requirements for consideration: 3-4+ years of job-related experience managing a volunteer program at a nonprofit and leading volunteers; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required; strong leadership and interpersonal skills; proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office suite; excellent organization and planning skills; ability to work collaboratively as well as independently; and dependability and commitment to fulfilling the mission of CCSC. Demonstrated ability to communicate, motivate, lead and relate effectively with a variety of individuals; excellent oral and written skills and experience with program evaluation. Spanish fluency and Bloomerang Volunteer Management System (or similar) experience are preferred. Due to the nature of this role, only Christian applicants will be considered.

Position requirements: This position primarily occurs in an office setting with some activity giving organizational tours to potential volunteers and stakeholders. The employee must be able to operate a computer, lift 10 pounds, and be able to visually review data and reports. The person in this position must be able to understand and adhere to established program procedures as well as develop new processes; be able to review, analyze, and question data; and have the ability to express or exchange ideas with others.
