Souper Bowl of Caring Scores Against Hunger

No matter what team comes out on top in the Super Bowl, CCSC clients are always winners in the Souper Bowl of Caring.

Thank you to all the youth groups, church congregations and individuals who donated food and funds to CCSC for the 2024 Souper Bowl of Caring, including Rice Temple Baptist Church, St. Luke's Presbyterian Church, Christ the King Lutheran Church, St. Luke's Day School, and First Christian Church.

The Rice Temple Baptist Church youth group distributed paper bags with flyers on them in the neighborhood surrounding the church asking their neighbors to fill the bags for CCSC.

"I think it's cool that we are helping people in need," said Ethan Villafane,13, of Rice Temple Baptist Church. His friend Benjamin Gil,18, agreed, "I feel that even the smallest of actions can make a difference. Especially when all the churches work together—one church can inspire others," Gil said.

Gabrielle Griffing, 12, a youth at St. Luke's Presbyterian Church, said, "I think it's great that we, the church, do this. It helps people who need food. That makes you feel good. I love helping."

First Christian Church youths Kai Kasper, 13, and his sister Kate, 11, were both happy to help the community and feed others through First Christian Church's Souper Bowl fundraiser. "It's fun," Kate said. "It's nice doing this to feed others."
