From the food pantry to the board room, Loretta and David Elledge have served CCSC for over 20 years in all areas of the ministry, and that service was recognized recently when the Houston Texans Foundation awarded the Elledges a BHP Community Quarterback finalist award. The award carries a $5,000 donation to CCSC in honor of the Elledges’ service.
“CCSC’s basic needs and youth programs help so many people and that is important to us,” the Elledges said. “The other important characteristic that means a lot to us is that CCSC is supported by member churches of almost all denominations. We often ask other volunteers ‘what church are you from?’ but just out of curiosity. No one focuses on denominations. We are all united and working for one goal—to help people in need.”
“CCSC is thrilled to see David and Loretta Elledge recognized in the community for the commitment we have seen on a daily basis over many years,” said CCSC Executive Director Michelle Shonbeck. “They generously share their skills and time with our organization, greatly enhancing our ability to serve the vulnerable in our community. Our staff team loves and respects them and joins me in saying thank you to the Houston Texans for this honor.”
